St. Croix hotels for wedding?
Question:
My fiance and I plan to wed in St. Croix in early May of 2001. We’re planning to rent a villa for the honeymoon, but would prefer to hold the wedding at a hotel (at least one couple will be joining us to witness the wedding, and a second couple plus another friend might also attend). Can anyone recommend a suitable hotel? We’d prefer one with a resident wedding planner, or at least someone who can handle organizing a simple informal ceremony. Shoes will be optional.
Location isn’t critical, but I’d prefer a non-urban setting (meaning someplace not in downtown C’sted or F’sted). The ideal place would have a scenic beach, not be horrendously expensive, and have a good on-site restaurant for the reception. I’ve done a lot of web surfing, but of course it’s better to get first-hand reports than make a decision based on glossy promotional prose. I was thinking about the Waves At Cane Bay (but with only 12 rooms, we might need to make reservations *well* in advance – and their web site includes no email contact info or any details about their wedding services) or the Buccaneer (a little more expensive than I’d like). Thoughts? Perri

you might want to try cottages by the sea . is in fsted close to transporation on the beach run by pat and mac all the rooms are diffrent and has a area that could be used for a wedding. i had two family affairs there and all couldnt have been better there is a place on green cay as well. tammarand beach hotel its small but out apx 4 mils frm c.sted. need own trans in and out very nice and secluded romataic too. also a small quiet place is the hibbicus hotel on the north shore close to the commerant hotel. they have nice rooms and are right on the beach with a lovely room for affairs these are all open air rooms on the beach but quite nice and the people who run them are nice. i use to live on the island for 20 years good luck to ya cubby * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet’s Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet – Free!

Not exactly easy on the wallet, but I’d imagine either Carambola or the Buccaneer would be suitable. Leigh

The sugar mill on top of the hill at the Buccaneer would be a fabulous setting for a wedding. We were there last year and it is so beautiful. We stayed in the Ficus Suite and loved it, but it was expensive. Did not eat there, so can not tell you about the food quality. Another suggestion would be to be married at one of the restaurants along the beach and have your reception there. Chenay Bay has a beautiful beach, especially romantic at sunset or else Duggans Reef by the yacht club. They have excellent food! Sue OKray Island Fitness Travel

Here’s a second vote for the Hibiscus Hotel. Romantic and the people who run it are very nice. We spent a couple of weeks there this past October and are hoping to get back in the spring. Whatever your choice, good luck! pk Before you buy.
